Checkride Points & Procedures

Pilot must have 10 hours of training time on the aircraft they wish to check ride in.  Check Ride will be from KORD to KIND.  Pilot will perform an ILS approach either manually or with autopilot at specified runway in KIND (Phillip will provide chart for all pilots and will be able to be download from site).  Weather will be set to Fair weather with the visibility below 5000 feet at 1 mile.  Pilot must have runway visually in sight at minimums on chart before proceeding with landing.  The person conducting the check ride will not help you set up your instruments or operate any equipment in the aircraft.  The Person conducting the check ride will not help you read the plate and tell you the frequency or course for approach.  If you need help being vectored in the check rider may give you a heading to turn to to get you started on the base leg, but will not give you an altitude or airspeed.  The check rider cannot turn you on final.  The Check Rider will set up the session and upon the pilot taking control of the aircraft the pilot will be informed as to the weight of the aircraft so the pilot can calculate the Reference speeds for approach.  The person conducting the check ride will not at anytime fly the aircraft, turn off any engines or otherwise compromise the check ride.   The check riders may record any portion of your flight for future reference for use in company videos.  If the company has a paint for the aircraft you are checkriding in you must fly in company colors.  At this time the only aircraft at KORD that does not have a paint is the DH8-300.

The point system is a way to keep each checkride at a standard.  You have a lot of chances to make minor mistakes and a few chances for major mistakes.  Serious ones will fail you automatically.

Each Pilot Starts with 20 points passing is 13 or more points remaining at end of checkride.  After being released for schedule routes, if you start hitting the runways to hard in the aircraft and are warned about the problem once and the problem is not rectified then you will go back to training.  If you crash the aircraft in your first 10 scheduled flights you will go back and do another 10 hours of training and complete another checkride on that craft.
